Sec. A6-142. Organization.

The Commission shall organize itself in accordance with Section 506 of the Charter. It shall establish bylaws, or rules of conduct, subject to approval by the Board of Supervisors; and the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors shall be ex officio secretary of the Commission and shall provide secretarial assistance to the Commission. The Registrar of Voters, or his or her designee, shall attend meetings and provide available data for the commission to do its work in accordance with "Roles of the Departments/Agencies and Staff" in the Boards and Commissions Handbook.

As soon as practicable upon formation, and every July 1 of every year thereafter, the Commission will organize by electing one of its members as chairperson and another as vice chairperson to serve at the pleasure of the Commission. A majority of a five-member Commission shall consist of three Commissioners, and a majority of a seven-member Commission shall consist of four members, each of which constitutes a quorum for the transaction of business.
