Editor's note--Ord. No. NS-300.169, §§ 1 and 2, adopted Jan. 2, 1973, amended this Code by repealing former Div. A10, §§ A10-1--A10-5, and enacting in lieu thereof a new Div. A10, §§ A10-1--A10-4, as herein set out. Former Div. A10 pertained to the County Clerk and Recorder and was derived from the following: Code 1954, §§ 3.1.12-1--3.1.12-4; Ord. No. NS-300.45, §§ 1, 2, adopted May 9, 1960; Ord. No. NS-300.49, § 1, adopted Aug. 1, 1960; Ord. No. NS-300.53, § 1, adopted Dec. 5, 1960; Ord. No. NS-300.66, § 1, adopted March 4, 1963; and Ord. No. NS-300.93, § 2, adopted Feb. 28, 1966. Subsequently, Ord. No. NS-300.626, § 1, adopted April 27, 1999, amended the title of Div. A10 to read as herein set out. See the Code Comparative Table.

Sec. A10-4. Executive Officer of the Superior Court.

Pursuant to general law, the majority of the judges of the Superior Court may appoint an Executive Officer of the Superior Court. He shall hold such office at the pleasure of the court. He shall exercise such administrative powers and perform such other duties as may be required of him by the court. The court shall fix the qualifications of the Executive Officer and may delegate to him any administrative powers and duties required to be exercised by the court. The Executive Officer shall act as secretary to the judges of the court and perform, or supervise the performance of, the duties of Jury Commissioner. The salary of the Executive Officer shall be fixed by the court and shall be paid by the court. The position of Executive Officer shall be exempt from civil service laws. Assistants, deputies and other employees of the Superior Court which are authorized pursuant to the provisions of general law are exempt from the merit system provisions of the Charter and this Code.
