 1. How do I license my dog or cat?
 
  • If you live in an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County, call Santa Clara County Division of Animal Care and Control at 1-800-215-2555 or (408) 465-2920.
  • If you live within the city limits of Campbell, Monte Sereno, or Santa Clara, call Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority at (408) 764-0344.
  • If you live within the city limits of San Jose, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Milpitas, or Saratoga, call San Jose Animal Care and Control at (408) 578-7297. 
  • If you live within the city limits of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto, or Mountain View, call Palo Alto Animal Services at (650) 496-5971.

 2. How do I report an animal bite, a stray dog or cat, a dead animal, or resolve a barking dog problem?

 3. How can I help the San Martin Animal Shelter?
 

Consider a Donation!  The San Martin Animal Shelter welcomes donations of towels, newspaper, grooming supplies, cleaning supplies like liquid bleach or laundry detergent, pet food , treats and toys. Monetary donations are also gladly accepted.
Shelter Donation "Wish List":
(The San Martin Animal Shelter would find the following items useful)

   - Dog runs, kennels and cages.
   - Animal crates or transport cages
   - Litter boxes
   - Large animal bathing tub.
   - Shop or surgical vacuum
   - Large covered storage tubs.
   - Blow drier for animal grooming
   - Hair clippers and nail trimmers
   - Grooming supplies
   - Humane animal traps

Be a Volunteer!  The San Martin Animal Shelter offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities. To  participate in our program, individuals must be at least 18 years of age. Persons interested in wildlife management, law enforcement, data entry or just working with animals are encouraged to apply.

Volunteers may make weekly, monthly, or project specific commitments of their time to:

    - Work with shelter animals - Help at vaccination clinics
    - Conduct neighborhood licensing surveys - Assist with community outreach
    - Assist with data entry & computer work - Design brochures or handouts
    - Collect newspaper or donations - Update shelter website
