Miguel Márquez is the Acting County Counsel for the County of Santa Clara.

Attorneys in the Office of the County Counsel are assigned to "teams" which represent a variety of clients with common interests.

The Office is administered by the County Counsel. Legal operations are supervised by three Assistant County Counsel.

At the request of the Board, we have taken on a more comprehensive role assisting our clients to fulfill their goals and objectives. This is beneficial to the County in preventing liability and serious impacts to County operations and budget.

The Impact Litigation and Social Justice Section of the Santa Clara County Counsel's Office brings impact litigation, drafts legislation and develops novel programs to ensure social and economic justice for County residents and to advance local, state and national public policy reform.

The County Counsel is the attorney for the County, including the Board of Supervisors and all County officers.

The public and the client rely on and trust the legal advice provided by this Office and expect a high degree of professional competence and integrity. Quality legal services include an expectation that operative rules and regulations are applied correctly and carefully.
