Hazardous Waste Training

HMCD offers free Hazardous Waste Management Training for Small Quantity Generators (SQG).

Class Dates

Program Description

Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health's Hazardous Materials Compliance Division (HMCD) provides free hazardous waste management training for Small Quantity Generators of hazardous waste.  Participants in the training are given reference documents to assist them in performing facility self-inspections.

Eligibility

Facilities that generate less than 5 tons of hazardous waste per year (waste oil is not included in this total) may participate in this training provided that they have a current Hazardous Waste Generator Permit issued by one of the following agencies: Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health (i.e., HMCD); the City of San Jose; the City of Milpitas; the City of Mountain View; or the City of Palo Alto.  If you do not currently have such a permit, you should apply for one by submitting a completed "Hazardous Waste Generator Permit Application."

There is no charge to attend this training, but advance registration is required. Space is limited, so register early. Some classes are generic, and others are industry-specific.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact HMCD at (408) 918-3400.
