There are no 7:00 a.m. visits allowed on weekdays.

Until further notice, 3:10 p.m. visits will be allowed only at Main Jail South. This time is not available at Main Jail North.
NOTE: Inmates may have one 60-minute visit on weekends and one 60-minute visit Monday through Friday (two visits per week). Visits are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors must register at least one hour before the visiting time they desire. Monday through Friday sign-ups for visits start at 7AM. Weekend sign-ups start at 6AM.
Up to two (2) adults may visit, but the visit will be split into one half-hour for each (one visitor at a time). Those planning split visits must both be present at the time of sign-up.
Adult visitors and the inmates' or the visitors' children may visit. An original and/or notarized birth certificate is required for each child at the time of visit. Children who are 18 years or older will be counted as adults.
All visitors may register up to three days, but no less than one hour, before a visit.
***Money Orders / Cashier's Checks***
All money for an inmate must be sent through U.S. Postal Service. The Visiting Officer will NOT accept cash or checks. Money sent to an inmate must be in the form of a Money Order or Cashier's Check, made payable to the "Santa Clara County Department of Correction." The maximum amount is $300.00 dollars. Always include the inmate's name, booking number and PFN number on each check or money order.
The following types of clothing are prohibited:
TRANSPARENT, SPAGHETTI STRAP, STRAPLESS, HALTER TOPS, BARE MIDRIFF TOPS, TANK TOPS, SLING SHOT SHIRTS, SHORT DRESSES OR SKIRTS, OR ATTIRE DISPLAYING OBSCENE OR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE OR DRAWINGS.
The inmate will not be eligible for a visit if he has lost his privilege as a result of any disciplinary action.
Inmate workers may have a two (2) hour visit during the weekdays. This will not be allowed on Saturdays or Sundays.
Up to two (2) adults may visit, but you will have to split the visit into one half-hour each (one visitor at a time). If a split visit is intended, both visitors must register at the same time. Any reasonable number of dependent children may visit as long as they are constantly supervised and remain well behaved. If you cannot control your children, your visit will be terminated for their safety.
Convicted felons who have served time in a state facility are not allowed on jail property without prior permission from the facility Commander and their parole officer. Prior approval by the Watch Commander must be received.
Acceptable Forms of Identification
All Adult Visitors must show a valid, government issued picture I.D. to prove identity. Examples of appropriate identification are as follows:
- Any Government issued Driver's License
- Any Government issued picture Identification Card such as Immigration "Green Cards", a valid Passport/Visa if it is constructed as an ID and contains a picture
Directions to Main Jail
The Main Jail is located at 150 W. Hedding St. at the intersection with San Pedro Street. The complex is approximately one block west of North First Street and one block east of Highway 87, in downtown San Jose.
From Interstate 880
Take the North First Street exit. Proceed south on North First Street to West Hedding Street. Turn right on West Hedding Street. The complex is on the southwest corner of the intersection of West Hedding and San Pedro.
From U.S. 101
Merge to southbound Interstate 880. Exit at the North First Street exit. Proceed south on North First Street to West Hedding Street. Turn right on West Hedding Street to San Pedro.
