Office of County Surveyor - Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I get my property surveyed?
Contact a private Licensed Land Surveyor. Get names from referrals, in the yellow pages of the telephone directory, and/or visit the local chapter of the California Land Surveyors Association. The County Surveyor will not survey your property
5. How do I know or find if there is a map of my property?
Come to the 7th floor of 70 West Hedding St., San Jose. On the southerly wall, see microfiche and search instructions on the table top; or contact your title insurance company and title report. County does not do the search for you.
8. How do I get a copy of my surrounding annexation?
Ask the city clerk of the affected city or district. If they do not have it, contact the records section of the Board of Supervisor's Office for Santa Clara County.
Under certain circumtances, the County Surveyor's Office may be able to provide the older annexations.
