NATIONAL REGISTRY EMT EXAMINATION INFORMATION

Effective January 1, 2007, the National Registry (NREMT) has implemented computer based testing for EMT’s. The NREMT has contracted with Pearson VUE, a computerized testing company, to offer the tests.

Individuals wishing to take the NREMT test will need to follow these steps:

While enrolled in the course, apply on the NREMT website www.nremt.org; pay by credit card or send in a money order before taking the test.
Once you finish the course, your instructor will need to validate that you have successfully completed the course, including the skills competency, on password protected portion of the NREMT website.
After completing the first two steps, you will be notified by the NREMT that you are eligible to make an appointment to take the exam.

Test results will be available at the NREMT website at www.nremt.org, in most cases the next business day. The cost for the written exam for both initial and retesting is:

EMT - Basic - $70
Paramedic - $110
