Report a Fire Hazard

The County Fire Marshal's Office responds to complaints for the purpose of gaining compliance with the California Fire Code and local ordinance.  It is important to be sure you have the correct jurisdiction, because this determines who will handle the code enforcement role.   Please click on Find Your Jurisdiction, and if the County Fire Marshal’s Office is the correct jurisdiction, return to this screen using your Browser’s ‘Back’ button.

Please view our frequently asked questions regarding who to call to report certain concerns: FIRE HAZARD FAQ PDF

IMPORTANT: The County does not disclose the identity of anyone filing a complaint.  We do ask that you provide us with contact information for you so that we can contact you should it be necessary for the purpose of locating a hazard or understanding the nature of your concern.

We have two forms you can use to submit a complaint, the above referral form which when submitted sends us an e-mail and our downloadable PDF form  you can mail to our Office Specialist at:

Office of the Fire Marshal
Attn: Sharon King
70 W Hedding St. 7th Fl EW

Or simply call (408) 299-5762  and we will take your information at that time and directly enter your concerns into our Code Enforcement Database. It is common for situations requiring code enforcement to encompass more than one enforcement entity. With our new Code Enforcement database we can quickly route your issue to all agencies below except the Weed Abatement Program.  The Ag Department's Weed Abatement Program has their own Concern/Complaint phone line which is the quickest way of resolving your Weed Abatement concerns.
