Orthophotos are completely rectified copies of original photographs.  The Santa Clara County orthophotos were developed in 2002 through cooperation with the City of San Jose, Santa Clara Valley Water District, and the County. The County orthophotos have an accuracy of +/- 1 foot in the developed areas and +/- 5 feet in the hilly areas.

Enterprise GIS is responsible for providing enhanced access to the aerial orthophotos for all groups of users including GIS, CAD, and others within the County.  A web based  viewer for orthophotos is under development.
