Strategic Planning is an important job function of the Enterprise GIS in addition to Basemap operations. The County-wide GIS Strategic Plan was developed in 2002 and adopted in November 2002. This plan lays out the road map for the future direction of the County-wide GIS Program. Even though the GIS Strategic Plan was a one time effort, it lays the foundation for the Enterprise GIS team to continue to analyze trends in the GIS industry as well as in State and Federal Government and assimilate industry best practices into its strategic planning to provide improved services to its users.
