Federal The United States Code database is available from the Government Printing Office. GPO is the sole agency authorized by the federal government to publish the U.S. Code. Cornell University also offers own U.S. Code database.
State Water Resources Control Board, in coordination with nine Regional Water Quality Boards, performs functions related to water quality, including issuance of discharge permits and other programs on storm water run off, underground and above ground storage tanks. The State Board also has programs regarding the allocation of water and protection of water rights.

Water Programs: US EPA Region 9 web site will provide you with information on Surface Water Quality, Drinking water and ground water program, wastewater program. Water Division is responsible for implementing programs to protect the public and the environment by preventing, reducing and regulating contamination of surface and ground water. A watershed approach is used to provide protection for public health and water resources including lakes, rivers, estuaries, oceans, and wetlands.
