This fun volunteer-based educational program teaches Santa Clara County residents how to start and maintain a home compost system for their landscape, garden, and food wastes. Volunteers must successfully complete comprehensive training and pass a final evaluation. The first class of graduates completed the course in May 1995. To date, more than 328 people have been trained as Master Composter Volunteers in Santa Clara County. Over 28,000 hours of volunteer time has been donated by our Master Composters.
