The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program was created by the Housing and Community Development (HCD) Act of 1974. In the County of Santa Clara, the HCD Program is operated as part of the Office of Affordable Housing which is part of the Office of the County Executive. The County CDBG Program is federally funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist lower income and special needs persons in the Urban County which address housing and community development needs.
- 2010/2011 Budget: $1,742,000
- Area Served: Urban County including the Cities of Campbell, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Saratoga, and the Unincorporated areas of the County.
- Eligibility: Households must be within the income limits for the County of Santa Clara and are periodically revised. Click Here to view the 2008 HUD income limits. National Objectives: CDBG Funds should be used to (1) primarily benefit lower income households, (2) removal of slums or blight in neighborhoods, (3) in response to urgent community needs.
