Established in 1991 and revised in 2008. The purposes of the Council shall be to advise the Board of Supervisors on matters that help assure safety and restoration for victims of domestic violence, cessation of the violence, and accountability for batterers.
The Policies and Procedures manual was developed for optimal service to the County of Santa Clara by providing clarity and organization for the process of addressing Domestic Violence in this County.
At the September 2, 2005 meeting, upon the recommendation of its Immigrant Survivor's Committee, the Santa Clara County Domestic Violence Council adopted this definition of culture.
