Teachers, are you looking to liven up your curriculum and add some environmental education spice to the routine? Why not add an exciting creek study? It's fun for the kids, highly educational and after this workshop, easy to do. See the "Kids for Creeks" flier at the bottom of the page for more information.
Let Santa Clara County Parks bring your lessons to life! We offer a number of nature and history programs to school groups. You can take part in a guided program at a local County park, or have a Park Interpreter or Park Ranger visit your classroom. View or print out the "County Parks Environmental Educational Programs" under attachments below for more information.
NEW --- on-line Teaching and Activity Guides to our historic educational facilities!
Teaching and Activity Guides to Santa Teresa County Park’s Historic Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch , Chitactac-Adams Heritage County Park (featuring native Ohlone culture), and the New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum are now available on-line.
We have designed the guides primarily for third and fourth grade classes studying California history, but the materials may be adapted for other grades and subjects. The information and activities in each guide are correlated to the California Content Standards for California public schools and can be used to compliment a fieldtrip visit to one of our historic sites, or to learn more about local history in your classroom.
To view or print one of the guides, click on one of the guides below. For more information, please call Robin Schaut, Interpretive Program Supervisor at (408)846-5622. |
