General Agency Information
Commercial Photography and Filmmaking

County park areas are not available for commercial filmmaking or photography without a use permit obtained from the director.

Fees:
(As listed in the Current Fee Schedule)

PERMITS (Commercial)

FEE CATEGORY

FEE

NOTES

Photography (Annual)

$150.00

Filming (For-Profit/Movie/Advertising)

$900.00

Single filming session

Filming (Non-Profit/Training)

$250.00

Single filming session

Most permits do not require a Park Use/Special Event Permit unless the shoot impacts a park in such a way as to inhibit the normal use of the park, is located in an area not normally open to the particular activity being photographed or filmed, or the activity by nature and/or exposure to the County would require a Certificate of Insurance.

Most photography permits (portait or group) would go through reservations. Filming and more involved photography shoot requests should go through the PUC.

Non-commercial photography

Personal photography/filming: not sold for profit or used to make money in any way and school projects (photography or filming) are not charged a fee but may require scheduling so as to avoid any area use/event conflicts. Contact the appropriate park office or the Park Use Coordinator for more information or to schedule a shoot in a particular area.
