The Public Information Office is Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's link to local, state and national media. The office is available to respond to journalists' inquiries and requests, writes and distributes news releases, posts information to the medical center’s web site, and produces various materials about the medical center’s departments, programs and services.
Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Members of the news media can call 408-885-4164 during these hours for the condition of a patient, to request an interview, or for more information.
After hours, members of the news media calling for the condition of a patient should call the Nursing Office at 408-885-6750. The Public Information Officer is available after hours for urgent or emergency issues or events, members of the news media click here.

San Jose Giants Team Trip to SCVMC
On July 17th, patients in the Pediatric Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Rehabilitation Center for spinal cord injuries, and the Burn Center got a special visit from the San Jose Giants. The entire team, with the manager and Gigante (the mascot), came to visit our patients with pens in hand to sign pennants, baseballs and player cards.
