Improving Our Facilities

In November 2008, the voters of Santa Clara County overwhelmingly supported Measure A, the bond measure that helps Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) meet the state’s mandate to be seismically (earthquake) safe. Measure A provides funding to upgrade and replace hospital facilities at SCVMC, this community’s biggest, busiest and only public hospital.

The SCVMC Seismic Safety Project will be completed in two phases. The first phase includes the demolition of old buildings to make room for a new building, approved design of a new hospital bed building, construction of a new parking structure and the new hospital bed building, and seismic (earthquake) upgrades to other hospital buildings. As this project progresses, we will continue to post updates.

Thank you for your support in making Santa Clara County a safer and healthier place to live.
