At SCVMC, we know that sifting through health information in books, magazines, commercials, and on the Internet can be overwhelming and difficult. This is even more true if English is not your first language. To help our patients and other Santa Clara County residents access health information more easily, we have partnered with the Vision Literacy Program at the Santa Clara County Library and the PlaneTree Health Library to create the Community Learning Center. The Community Learning Center can help you learn more about your health while improving reading and writing skills. 

The Community Learning Center contains a health library and offers a variety of adult literacy services as well as individualized Internet training for online health and medical searches. Health information is available in several formats including video, audio, and print, with most materials geared towards adult readers. The Community Learning Center has two locations, is free and open to the public.
