The Nephrology Division takes a multidisciplinary approach with physicians, nurses, dieticians, social workers, and technicians intimately involved in patient care. Additionally, the physicians of SCVMC's Nephrology Division provide nephrologic care for patients receiving dialysis at other non-SCVMC dialysis units where we maintain privileges.
Education is an important element of the mission of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. In the Nephrology Division, two of Stanford Medical School's five clinical fellows are based at SCVMC. Resident and student education are critical elements of the division's activities. During the past few years, nephrology has become the residents' most popular subspecialty choice.
