The Sheriff's Department is responsible for the transportation of all inmates within Santa Clara County Department of Corrections. This would include movements for court, medical appointments, state prison runs, inter-jail movement as well as any other such movement involving County inmates. During the year, the Sheriff's Transportation Division is responsible for approximately 250,000 inmate movements.
