How to Make a Report of Adult Abuse and/or Neglect - Adult Protective Services

Anyone may report an incident of known or suspected abuse and/or neglect. Santa Clara County APS welcomes calls from concerned members of the community. If you are unsure about making a report, you are welcome to call and discuss your concerns with our trained staff.

By law, APS must keep confidential the identity of anyone making a report and may share this only with other, specified investigating agencies.

When you call, an Adult Protective Services social worker will listen to your concerns. Any details you can provide about the elder or dependent adult will be valuable. It is helpful for the APS worker to know who the important people are in the victim’s life. With this information the worker can investigate and determine the best course of action in collaboration with the client.

Because of your call, an elder or dependent adult may be on the road to better care, health, shelter, support, and well-being.

To make a report of abuse and/or neglect, or discuss your concerns, call:

(408) 975-4900 or 1-800-414-2002
