The Santa Clara County Public Administrator handles the administration of estates of persons who die in our community when no other person or family is willing or appropriate to administer their estates.

The mission of the Public Administrator is to marshal, manage, maximize and distribute assets of decedent's estates according to the California Probate Code.

The mission of the Public Guardian is to safeguard the lives and property of conservatees who cannot care for themselves, with the least possible restriction of their personal liberties.

A Conservator of the person is appointed when someone needs help taking care of his or her daily needs.
