Family must be residents of Santa Clara County.

Applicant(s) must be at least 18 years of age or older (single, two-parent, or same gender families of all ethnicities and income levels with or without children).

Family must complete application packet.

All adults 18 years and older must be fingerprinted and TB tested.

All caretakers must attend the 27 hours PRIDE Training Program.

There must be adequate bedroom space to accommodate all family members, including foster children.

Family must have adequate income to cover their family's needs.

Smoke alarms must be installed and in good working order.

All weapons must be in a locked secured place.

If any adult who lives in the home has a criminal record, it may prevent the family from being licensed. If that person is on probation or parole, however, the family cannot be licensed.

Spanking and other kinds of corporal punishment of foster children are not allowed.

The home must have a working telephone.

Home and outdoor activity space must be safe and in good repair.

Pools, spas, or any body of water must be fenced or covered.

All licensed adults in the family must be trained in First Aid & CPR.

Medications and poisons must be locked up.
