CHAPTER II.
CLERK

Sec. A5-16. Recognized; appointment, supervision.

There shall be in the County a Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, who shall be appointed by the County Executive and shall be under the supervision of the County Executive.

Sec. A5-17. Duties, powers generally.

The Clerk shall act as secretary to the Board of Supervisors and take the minutes and correspondence thereof. The Clerk shall perform all the acts required of him by this Code or as required by general law to be performed by the County Clerk as ex officio Clerk of the Board of Supervisors or as directed by said Board. Subject to provisions of the Charter and this Code, the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors shall have power to appoint, suspend or remove all assistants, deputies, clerks and other employees necessary to conduct the work of the Department.

Sec. A5-18. To handle petitions, other communications.

The Clerk shall receive, on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, any and all petitions, applications and requests for the consideration of the Board, and shall file them for the Board and process them for errors.

Sec. A5-19. Duty to prepare agenda and reports.

The Clerk shall prepare the Board of Supervisors' agenda, assemble reports and such other annexes as may be on file for any cause on the agenda, and have them available for all members of said Board at its meeting.

Sec. A5-20. Recording, certification of votes.

The Clerk shall record the vote of the Board of Supervisors and issue certifications of such vote, order, resolution or act of such Board by affixing his signature and the seal of the Board of Supervisors upon the request of any party.
