Communications Engineering Manager
Mark’s experience in the field of communications began with the private sector in 1980. He joined County Communications in 1995 as a Communications Technician and was promoted to Chief Communications Technician in 1997. Mark was again promoted in 2000 to Communications Engineer with supervision and project management responsibilities related to Technical Services Division. Mark accepted the promotion to Communications Engineering Manger on July 28, 2008. He has been involved in many successful technical systems and facility upgrades beginning with the research and development phase through all ensuing phases up to installation and project acceptance.
As the Communications Engineering Manager, Mark is instrumental in ensuring the overall operation and effectiveness of the Technical Services Division. He represents the County’s interests in various local and regional interoperability projects such as the Silicon Valley Regional Communications System (SVRCS), CAD-to-CAD and various key microwave radio communications systems (BAMS, E-Comm and MBAMS). Additionally, County Communications is regionally involved in facilitating radio and data interoperability and Mark is responsible for coordinating the Division’s technical activities in support of those projects.
