At the request of Supervisor Dave Cortese, Santa Clara County has partnered with Our City Forest to provide up to 500 new street trees for the unincorporated pockets of Alum Rock and the East Foothills. The plantings will occur at least one Saturday a month through June 2013. When: Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, 2013 Time: Doors open at 5:00am. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis with a goal of providing care to more than 2,000 people during the two-day clinic. Who: Californians having difficulty accessing dental care, including uninsured, underinsured, unemployed, adults and children, and others who are in need of oral care. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Care: The services offered are limited to cleanings, fillings, extractions, some patrials to replace front teeth, some root canals, oral health education and assistance on identifying a source of dental care.
All work is provided free by dentail professionals donating their time and skills.

Please join Supervisor Dave Cortese and Silicon Valley Education Foundation on the Annual Sacramento Bus Trip on May 29, 2013 from 6am to 6pm. Each year, Supervisor Cortese gather groups of people – educators, parents, community leaders, nonprofit leaders, students, and others - who are interested in education and bring them on a FREE bus trip to Sacramento to speak with our legislators about their concerns on Education. Our legislators need to hear us say which educational priorities are important to our community.
