Swimming Pool and Spa Drain Cover Recall: Notice to Operators

Last modified: 3/5/2012 11:54 AM

On May 25, 2011 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a voluntary recall notice for certain models of drain covers used in swimming pools and in-ground spas.  This voluntary recall is a result of improper maximum flow ratings that were issued for the affected covers. According to the CPSC, these covers may pose a suction entrapment hazard to swimmers.  The recalled covers were sold between December 2008 and April 2011.

The Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health is in the process of evaluating the specifics of this voluntary recall and in the near future will determine a course of action to address this issue.  Please check back with this website for further updates.  You may also contact us at (408) 918-3400.
