IMPORTANT: Accounts paid in full by debit card or eCheck will incur a 15 day hold period before notification of your account being paid in full is provided to the Court which in turn will authorize DMV to release a driver's license hold. It is the cardholder’s responsibility to know whether they are paying using a credit card or debit card. Payments by debit cards or eCheck payments inadvertently used instead of a credit card payment will not be cancelled nor intercepted by the Department of Revenue or FIS PayDirect to permit re-payment by credit card.

  • Spanish and Vietnamese speaking staff are available for bilingual services.
  • Visitor parking is available in the lot located in front of Bldg. #2. Please park in the Visitor Parking row to avoid a parking ticket.

A payment drop box is available outside Building #2 for your convenience during non-business hours. 

Please do not deposit cash.

Payments by mail:

Make checks payable to the DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE and include your DOR account number and the client name if paying for someone else.

Please return your payment using your billing statement remittance advice and blue return payment envelope whenever possible.  If you do not have your remittance advice or the blue envelope, payments may be addressed to:

Credit Card and eCheck (Electronic Funds Transfer) Payments

The County of Santa Clara, Department of Revenue is pleased to be able to offer you the convenience of making secured online payments as well as payment made through a toll free phone call to our 24/7 Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system using American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Debit Card or eCheck (Electronic Funds Transfer) from your checking or savings account. In addition, payments are accepted in our office using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Discover, Diner's Credit Card, Debit cards (with the Star, NYCE or Pulse logo), cash, check, cashier’s check or money order.

The online and IVR payment center is administered by FIS PayDirect and offers additional payment options. To use the online website, IVR or to make a credit card or debit card payment in-person in our office, a convenience fee will be assessed by FIS PayDirect at the time of payment and no part of this fee goes to the County. Therefore, no part of the convenience fee is refundable. The convenience fee for a credit card or debit card transaction is 2.25% of the total payment amount or a minimum of $3.95. The fee for an electronic funds transfer is $0.50. Multiple accounts may be paid under one transaction and may minimize your convenience fee. The amount of the convenience fee will be made known to you prior to your final authorization of the payment transaction at which time you will have the option to continue or cancel the processing of your payment transaction. We encourage you to print and save your receipt if paying online. You will receive an email confirmation when paying your account online if you provide an email address. If paying by an Electronic Funds Transfer (eCheck) using the website or the IVR, please confirm your account number and bank transit number before submitting payment. Any payment that is not honored by your bank for any reason (including incorrect bank account or transit number) may be subject to a nonsufficient funds fee.
