The Reclassification Window is an opportunity for eligible employees represented by SEIU Local 521 and Administrative Confidential Employees (ACE) Clerical to submit a reclassification study request in accordance with section 20.1 – Reclassification of the SEIU Local 521 Contract. Employees represented by SEIU Local 521 – EHU, SSU and Supervisory Units may not submit requests during this Reclassification Window.
The 2012-2013 SEIU Local 521 and ACE Clerical Reclassification Window was open from November 26, 2012 through December 28, 2012. Due to the expiration date of the June 23, 2013 Master Agreement between SEIU Local 521 and the County, no future Reclassification Window dates have been negotiated.
The reclassification requests received will be reviewed by Human Resources to determine if a classification study is warranted. Once the request has been reviewed, the employee will be notified of the approval or denial of the request no later than three (3) months following the window. In the case of a denial the reasons for the denial will be provided.
In the case of a denied request, the employee may appeal to the Director of Personnel in writing within ten (10) working days of receipt of the written denial.
Should a study be approved, Human Resources will initiate the classification study as outlined in, Classification Study Process Overview.
