The Workforce, Education and Training (WET) component of the Mental Health Services Act (2004) supports the ongoing development of the public mental health workforce and provides trainings to support their success as an essential element of the public mental health workforce.
Peer Intern Program
The Peer Intern Program provides an opportunity to consumers to receive valuable work experience and training in a supportive environment. The program provides placement into a variety of programs within the Mental Health Department, along with trainings to develop skills and receive supervision to maximize a successful entry/re-entry into the workforce.
The Peer Intern program provides training in a variety of areas to develop both the knowledge and skill base of the intern.

Intern positions, when available, are announced throughout both the Santa Clara County Mental Health Department and the County contract agencies, as well as on the Santa Clara County Mental Health website.
