Item 8: Accept report from the Health and Hospital Committee relating to meeting of January 12, 2011. (Kniss) Possible action: b) Consider approval of Strategic Framework for Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System.
Item 14:

Consider recommendations relating to proposals for re-balancing the Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 budget (Phase II). Possible action:

a) Accept report relating to proposals for re-balancing the FY 2011 budget.

b) Approve Request for Appropriation Modification No. 117 - $25,046,840 adjusting revenue and expenditures in various departments to re-balance the FY 2011 County budget. (4/5 Roll Call Vote)

c) Introduction and preliminary adoption of Salary Ordinance No. NS-5.11.41 amending Santa Clara County Salary Ordinance No. NS-5.11 relating to the compensation of employees adding and deleting positions in various departments to implement recommendations to re-balance the FY 2011 County budget. (Roll Call Vote to waive reading, Roll Call Vote to adopt)

Adjourn to 2011 State of the County Address, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Board Chambers
Supervisor Dave Cortese, President of the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors, will present the annual State of the County address. This address will cover the County’s current fiscal condition and major initiatives that he plans to launch in 2011 to improve the quality of life for county residents. Cortese will focus heavily on youth needs in education and juvenile justice, propose major plans for the county’s increased participation in economic development and push for open government measures.
