Santa Clara County to Unveil New Innovative Tool for Emergency Alerts

NEWS CONFERENCE AND INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATION


WHAT:
The County and local cities will unveil a new innovative tool to encourage people living and working in Santa Clara County to sign up for AlertSCC emergency alerts.

Local officials, police and fire personnel will demonstrate use of the new tool.

DEMONSTRATION: Reporters are invited to participate in the demonstration at the news conference. Email your name and photo, head shot or candid, no later than Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. to sccpublicaffairs@ceo.sccgov.org. Image should be a .jpg and at least 400 KB and no larger than 4 MB.

WHY:
The County of Santa Clara, local cities and police and fire personnel are encouraging residents to sign up for AlertSCC, the County’s emergency notification system, to receive free emergency messages during and after a disaster. AlertSCC is a free, easy, and confidential way for anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County to get emergency warnings sent directly to their cell phone, mobile device, email, or landline. AlertSCC can reach you wherever you are to provide information and instructions in a variety of emergency situations.
