The 2010 County of Santa Clara Green Business Recognition

111 Green Businesses to be honored by the County of Santa Clara

In Fiscal Year 2009-2010, 111 Green Businesses were added to the growing and diverse list of Certified Green Businesses in Santa Clara County. Each of the businesses to be honored has taken steps to protect the environment by reducing water and energy consumption, increasing recycling and preventing pollution. Each of these measures lowers a business’ environmental footprint, which often translates to lower operational costs, and in many cases decreases green house gas emissions.

The County of Santa Clara Green Business Program is part of the Bay Area Regional Green Business Program. Partnering with local cities, the Santa Clara Valley Water District, Pacific Gas & Electric, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the County of Santa Clara Green Business Program certifies businesses that demonstrate environmental stewardship and responsibility. To date, 514 businesses have been certified in Santa Clara County since 1999.
