Three-Year-Old Son’s Battle with Cancer Inspires Parents to Raise Awareness

Board of Supervisors to Present Family with National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Resolution

WHAT: 
Scott and Carmen Murray, with three-year-old son Ty, will be presented with a resolution from the Board of Supervisors for National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The Murrays, employees of the Probation Department, have spent the last two years fighting for their son’s life after he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer.

WHY: 
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and a stark reminder about the devastating impact of the disease. Through “Team Ty,” the Murray family raises funds to help find a cure for neuroblastoma, including organizing Team Ty’s first annual dinner gala held on September 24.
