County of Santa Clara to begin offering New Veteran I.D. Cards June 12

Media invited to demo of veterans I.D. Card system before official launch
WHAT:       
Demonstration of the County’s new Veterans Identification Card System at the Santa Clara County Office of Veterans Services, before the system is launched on June 12.

WHY:         
The new veteran identification cards can be used to provide proof of military service, instead of carrying DD-214 papers, to access services, benefits and receive veterans discounts at many local businesses. There are approximately 85,000 veterans in Santa Clara County.
 
VISUALS:   
Demonstration of new I.D. system with two veterans as they get photos taken and meet with office staff about benefits. I.D. cards made on site.
