SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – Today, hundreds of Palestinian Americans will be celebrating at the Santa Clara County Government building. The 9th Annual Santa Clara County Palestinian Cultural Day will feature cultural performances, poetry reading, local artists' displays, delectable treats, and the raising of the Palestinian flag.
“This is a wonderful and unique event for the Santa Clara County community to participate in,” said County of Santa Clara Supervisor Dave Cortese. “It is a great opportunity to learn about and share in the County's celebration of the Palestinian American heritage.”
The Santa Clara County Palestinian Cultural Day will take place at the County of Santa Clara Government Center, 70 West Hedding Street, from 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by County of Santa Clara Supervisor Dave Cortese and the Palestinian Heritage Committee. John Halaka, Professor of visual art at the University of San Diego, will be the Keynote speaker.
“The Santa Clara County Palestinian Cultural day is a great opportunity for us to share our deep roots and rich cultural heritage with the Bay Area community,” said Johnny Khamis, member of the Palestinian Heritage Committee.
