Clara County 23rd Annual
Countywide Safety Seminar
Santa Clara County’s annual safety seminar, open to all County employees, contributes toward the reduction of on-the-job injuries and illnesses to County workers.
“Building Blocks to Safety” is the theme for the 23rd Countywide Safety Seminar sponsored by OSEC and the Countywide Labor/Management Safety Committee. This day-long event will take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
You are all invited to attend this training opportunity to learn and to network with fellow employees. OSEC is a Board of Registered Nursing approved Continuing Education Provider (CEP) and will grant Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses attending this seminar five contact hours toward continuation of their registrations or licenses.
Calling for Countywide Employee Safety Award Nominations
County workers are responsible for knowing and following all County safety and health rules, including safe work practices and standard operating procedures. Every County employee is ultimately responsible for the safety of his/her own actions on the job. They are expected to conduct themselves professionally and to be mindful of their own safety and the safety of others. OSEC invites all County employees to consider nominating a worthy co-worker for a Safety Award. Give strong consideration to those who went above and beyond this past year to make your job and the workplace a safer and more productive environment. Nomination deadline is August 1, 2008. Send your nomination form in by facsimile (FAX) to the attention of Jorinda Gallardo at 408.432-7555.
