Calling for Countywide Employee Safety Award Nominations
County workers are responsible for knowing and following all County safety and health rules, including safe work practices and standard operating procedures. Every County employee is ultimately responsible for the safety of his/her own actions on the job. They are expected to conduct themselves professionally and to be mindful of their own safety and the safety of others. OSEC invites all County employees to consider nominating a worthy co-worker for a Safety Award. Give strong consideration to those who went above and beyond this past year to make your job and the workplace a safer and more productive environment.
Last year’s awardees include: Tina Torkelson, Department of Child Support Services; Valeria Bolduc, Department of Correction; John Dwight, Facilities and Fleet Department; and Jim Russell, Roads & Airports Department.
Submit your nominations to the countywide Labor/Management Safety Committee to the attention of co-chairs Rosemary Knox and Lance Sposito, FAX 408.432-7555 by August 19, 2009.
