Vasona Lake County Park is getting a new playground! With your help, the 20-year-old playground will be transformed into a "destination" park where kids and adults can come to play and enjoy state of the art park amenities.
The proposed improvements include installation of traditional playground elements such as swings, climbing structures, slides, monkey bars, tunnels and seat walls. Other amenities include shade structures, a par course with exercise stations for adults, and maybe even a dazzling water feature to be enjoyed by kids of all ages.
The site of the new playground will be located close to the existing playground, near the eastern bank of the reservoir in the heart of Vasona Lake County Park, with picnic tables and restroom facilities nearby.
Construction of the 2,000-2,500 square foot playground is expected to be completed by summer 2015. Other improvements in the park will include realignment and reconstruction of the Los Gatos Creek Trail and renovation of the park's irrigation system.
