The project consists of invert concrete overlay repair and crack sealing along the box culvert within the San Tomas Expressway. The project extends along San Tomas Expressway between Cabrillo Avenue in the north and Williams Road in the south.
Currently, the project is in its second season, featuring the repair and relining of the box culvert invert (floor) from Williams Avenue to approximately Monroe Street. Weekly lane closures are necessary to safely transfer equipment and materials to support construction efforts below street level.
The current construction schedule
is updated regularly. This week’s concrete invert placement of about 230 cubic yards, will extend from approximately Homestead Ave to El Camino Real, and will occur on Thursday, 18 September.
Traffic advisories regarding lane closures
will be updated regularly.The #1 lane (closest to the center median) southbound, will be closed between Homestead Ave and El Camino Real, from 4am to 3pm, for the concrete placement. Additionally, there will be other lane closures the week of 15-19 September, to facilitate the movement of equipment and materials.
