Choices for Children and 4Cs Celebration

Celebrate with Choices for Children and the Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Santa Clara County, on the implementation of new nutrition and physical activity policies, in over 300 home childcare businesses.  The policies create healthier child care environments, by encouraging home daycares to focus on providing healthier food and beverages and structured physical activities for children.
 
The celebrations will take place at the Community Child Care Council:

o        Tuesday, July 12th from 7-8 PM
o        Wednesday, July 18th from 7-8 PM (POSSIBLE MEDIA)
o        Saturday, July 28th from 10-11 AM
 
Spanish
o        Saturday, July 14th from 10-11 AM
o        Wednesday, July 25th from 7-8 PM

 
 
 
   ​ Participating child care centers will receive an official Certificate of Excellence, as recognition for their outstanding contribution in creating a healthier child care center, through nutrition and physical activity. 
The celebrations throughout July will also features previews of Dexter and Martina in ReThink Your Drink, an animated cartoon Public Service Announcement campaign, which encourages children to reduce or eliminate drinking sugar-sweetened beverages.
 
The videos were made possible through an in-kind donation by Kaiser Permanente to the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.
 

 
 
Choices for Children and the Community Child Care Council are part of the Santa Clara County's Let's Move child care initiative, in partnership with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department's Center for Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention.
 
Choices for Children (CFC) of Santa Clara County is an organization that provides support and services to families, and child care providers, in order to empower them to raise healthy, competent, capable children.  Through 32 individual contracts, CFC's programs currently serve over 3,000 child care providers, 3,300 children, 2,500 families, and support the feeding of 14,000 children and 1,100 staff each month.
 
The Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Santa Clara County is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides a variety of comprehensive services and serves as the community child care link for families and child care professionals who live and work in Santa Clara County, California.
