Let’s Get Moving! Silicon Valley Transportation Choices and Healthy Communities Summit
On Saturday, February 24, TransForm’s Let's Get Moving in Silicon Valley held its first annual summit at the Luther Burbank Elementary School in San Jose. This event brought together over 100 people and speakers from national, regional, and local sectors of transportation, planning and public health.
Our own Susan Stuart was one of the panel speakers along with Dwayne March from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and San Jose Councilmember Ash Kalra of District 2. Susan’s presentation gave attendees insight into the increasing trends of chronic disease in Santa Clara County and its link to accessible public transportation, safe and walkable communities.
The Center for Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention is proud to have Susan speak on behalf of public health on this very important issue at the summit. Click on links below to read media coverage of the event.
