May is Mental Health Awareness Month - Join Us for a FREE Workshop on Empowering Diverse Populations: Community Action for Mental Health & Wellness
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! The Tobacco Free Coalition of Santa Clara County invites you to attend the second of a series of workshops focused on empowering diverse populations around health, advocacy, and community action within a tobacco control framework.
This workshop will feature a key note speaker and discussion panel of local community experts working on promoting behavioral and mental health, and community well-being using best practices approach.
Join us on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 2:30 – 5:00 pm at the Sobrato Center for Nonprofits, 1400 Parkmoor Avenue, Cupertino Room A, San José, CA 95126.
During this workshop you will learn:
- How to use evidence-based best practice approaches to engage and enhance service delivery to individuals with mental health illness and their families
- What barriers and challenges limit access to vital programs and services
- How to network with other organizations to develop partnerships to improve the effectiveness of the delivery of mental health services, as well as outreach and engagement of individuals with mental illness and tobacco addiction.
