Ecstasy - a "love drug" or a deadly gamble?
Between 2010 - 2011, the ecstasy drug has claimed the lives of nearly five people throughout Santa Clara County. Now, a countywide initiative is addressing the fatal dangers this drug (methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or, MDMA) in a short-film documentary called “Ecstasy: Lives Out of Balance.”
The documentary showcases stories from teens who have taken Ecstasy at raves or just at home, and how it has impacted their lives. It also shows the devastating impact on the families, the teenage brothers and sisters, of those who have died from taking the drug. The video is available at www.livesoutofbalance.org. You can also view it on this page by clicking the video on the top right of the screen.
