Taking it to the Streets: Putting Prevention to Work

Description:      
The 7th Annual Physical Activity and Nutrition Education Integration Showcase will include morning plenary presentations by three well-known national experts in public health and medicine, Bubba Paris, Larry Cohen, and Dr. Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo.  In addition experts in education, youth development, faiths, the built environment, physical education curriculum, fitness, nutrition and others will present seven interactive afternoon intensive classes addressing how you can put prevention to work in your community now. 
 
This event is free and lunch is provided.  Registration is required.
 
Speakers include:


- William H. “Bubba” Paris Jr., former tackle for the San Francisco 49ers, ordained minister and community health advocate.

- Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, PhD, MD MAS, Co-Director of the UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations, San Francisco General Hospital.


- Larry Cohen, Executive Director of the Prevention Institute, a non-profit national center dedicated to improving community health and equity through effective primary prevention.
