ROM Workshops
5-week workshops*, offered cyclically, on A Father’s Role in Parenting. These workshops provide African-American men with resources, and encourage their increased participation during times of pregnancy and post-birth. The class curriculum was developed by Dr. Michael E. Connors to teach men to be positive role models.
Topics include:
- Character of a man,
- Improving communication,
- Dealing with guilt and shame,
- Healthy relationships,
- Fatherhood self-assessment,
- Legal Issues,
- Developing a support system, and
- Other important topics regarding fatherhood as an African-American.
*Childcare, and snacks are provided. Transportation is provided to participants who qualify. Class attendees who do not have an operative vehicle in the home.

ROM is open to men of all races who are fathers, expectant fathers, or men contemplating fatherhood.
