FIRST 5 Santa Clara County, the County’s Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office, and Santa Clara County’s Public Health Department have partnered-up to raise awareness about unsafe sleeping practices when handling infants. Since 2005, there have been more than 40 preventable infant deaths in our County.

FIRST 5 Santa Clara County is committed to the healthy development of children in their first five years. Established in 1998 through funding from California’s Proposition 10, the “tobacco tax,” FIRST 5 Santa Clara County distributes millions of tobacco tax dollars annually to programs and services that positively impact the lives of children and families in Santa Clara County.
