Flu Information

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year.



UPDATES: Flu Activity in Santa Clara County 






The flu vaccine will protect against the influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the season. This season, our clinic will be providing the seasonal trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine(IIV). This flu vaccine includes:  

  • influenza A Christchurch/16/2010, NIB-74 (H1N1)
  • influenza A Texas/40/2012, NYMC X-233 (H3N2)
  • influenza B Massachusetts/2/2012

Flu vaccines are currently in stock and will be available until March 30, 2014.

We do not provide flu vaccine for pregnant women or anyone under 18 years of age.
